North Norfolk Railway - Vintage Transport Day

Gill and I had a nice run out of about 45 miles to the North Norfolk Railway Vintage Transport Day at Holt Railway station. Arriving about 10am we parked up with the Club Triumph group although not too long was spent looking at old cars as entry includes free passes for the Railway and Vintage buses which was not to be passed up. After bacon rolls we caught the steam train down to Weybourne, hauled in the Quad Art set of coaches by the J15 steam locomotive.

We spent a little time at Weybourne, a look at the diesels, and around the restored buildings, the station yard was occupied by the Rover owners club with some nice cars.

Deltic "Royal Highland Fusiliers" I remember these charging up the East
Coast main line near our house in York with their distinctive sound.

We then took the Diesel Unit to Sheringham, having a coffee before a walk round town and then the obligitory Fish and Chips at the seaside.

More transport was on view at Sheringham Station, there where vintage buses in the car park, these providing an alternative to the North Norfolk Railway train service to Holt and Anglia Trains to Cromer. There where also classic bikes and scooters on the station platform.

Colourful Scooters.

Around 4pm we headed back towards Holt on the Train to look at the classics that remained.

Another good day out in the TR7, had a few showers on the way home but managed to keep moving in the Norwich traffic with the hood down so did not get wet.
